This is probably still my FAVORITE Al song, with “Nature Trail To Hell” running a very close second.
1991-1995 was so formative for me; I was 14 when the whole Nirvana/grunge/alternative thing started, and it completely took over my young life.
To see it solidified in culture by the Great Weird Al was awesome for me.
This one also still makes me laugh the most.

Daniel Radcliffe spielt in dieser absurd-abgedrehten Biopic-Parodie den amerikanischen Musiker und Parodisten Alfred 'Weird Al' Yankovic.
Die abgedrehte Filmbiografie beginnt damit, dass der Parodie-Sänger 'Weird Al' Yankovic (Daniel Radcliffe) in die Notaufnahme eines Krankenhauses eingeliefert wird, dem Tod nahe. Ein Arzt versucht, ihn wiederzubeleben, aber es nützt nichts. Gerade als das medizinische Personal 'Feierabend' macht, setzt sich Al auf und sagt, dass er noch etwas Dringendes zu erledigen hat. Es gibt einen Rückblick in seine Kindheit und damit zur Geburtsstunde einer kommenden Legende, in der Madonna und ein Drogenboss überraschende Rollen einnehmen und auch seine Musikparodien nicht zu kurz kommen.

One of the first Weird Al songs my kid got really into a couple years back is the Hamilton Polka which is just an incredible display of his rapping chops, honestly. Take already complex lyrics and speed it up a bunch and he just nails it.
My kid is in a Weird Al phase again - which I am happy to engage with. So I am thinking of this recent episode of All Songs Considered in which Weird Al and the hosts have a fantastic discussion about parody and comedy songs. One thing I am still thinking about from this is how a good comedic song has to also be good music. It requires talent. And Weird Al is a very talented musician.
