the worst part about asking questions about linux system configuration is that people conflate "new to linux" and "new to tech" as being the same thing and talk down to you in terms of your ability to troubleshoot tech-related problems
i literally did gamedev qa professionally but when i ask a linux question people are like "why are you on manjaro and not a beginner distro like mint? you probably don't to be using a distro when you're SUCH a beginner" and it's highkey exhausting
@pixel funny thing is this is exactly WHY I chose Arch! i've used Ubuntu casually for years and learned nothing because everything's so heavily configured to work out the box that a.) I didn't need to learn the inner workings of Linux to use it, and b.) its pre-installed configs were too overwhelming.
Arch gives me well written setup/install guides to get going, and a Wiki that summarizes man pages and connects the dots between them so I can learn the lay of the land. It's a great distro for learning.
