Another #Utaite #SongCover by her that just came out amazing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DwD67Bn5fE
I normally prefer the originals when it comes to Kajiura's works. But this... I may actually like it better than the original. I don't know if I can emphasize how much it takes to make me say that...
One thing I really love about #Utaite doing #SongCovers is you can come back to a song you've heard a million times before and a good singer makes it feel new. The best covers throw in their own little styles and flair and sometimes they even surpass the originals.
Here's a song many of you have probably heard a million times before -- Uninstall -- covered by Suzuna Nagihara: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCNrKAP9mKE
You can't deny she gives it a certain something...
I guess I'll provide the video with the flair #Guitarist that people probably are looking for for this #JMusicFriday now that I have successfully gotten Minami onto a few feeds.
Wagakki Band feels a bit generic visual kei to me today, but their earlier works were a pretty special sort of utattemita as well as mixing styles in interesting ways. This one is from their middle period when they were transitioning over to what we know them as today and one of the last ones I truly enjoyed:

I think we can all agree that the lead guitarist is doing some interesting things (and has the attitude to match, lol.)
This #JMusicFriday is about a #Guitarist it seems. You're supposed to pick the best, but it's difficult for me to do that. I can think of at least five examples springing to mind, but only one has that sort of flair that people are probably looking for in declaring best.
Instead I'm going to cheat. You can't kick me out, so HAH!
Minami plays her own guitar as she sings. The guitar work isn't mind-blowing nor does it have lots of flair and it is acoustic (I'm sure we're looking for rock here,) but it is still good and it really fits the music.

This one is still my absolute favorite by tuki. though:

Well, let's see. Nice voice.
Pikasonic composition.
Fluffy kitty.
What more could one want?
Oh man, that tremolo. The vocalist is just getting better and better at it with every song...
Oh, this #MoodMusicMonday is about "submissive" but it can include defiance of submission. I absolutely 100% have one that fits the defiance category and it's one of my absolute favorites by this artist too.

(Translation in the closed captions btw. But the person who did them was trying to add a lot of stylish stuff and it may hit the CPU a bit hard on weak devices. The translation is also in the information on the song post itself.)
I mentioned i have a great February playlist right? So we gonna do a round of "OMFG THESE SONGS ARE SO GOOD!", because i want to listen to music XD
There needs to be good stuff in life. My reason for fighting Nazis, so i can listen to my music in peace.

Oh darn, I really had to turn this one way up.

CW: Flashy visual effects that might bother some.
I've said I'm not much for pop, but there are very rare exceptions and Zuttomayo is among those very few (though I haven't liked much of their latest works.) Really love ACAne's style as always. But one thing that the group(s?) has always been really amazing at is those bass lines...
Anyway, this one is just super catchy all around.
Also dancing zombie.
Just a random music post for no more reason than just that I'm in a music mood right now and this is one of the catchy ones I was listening to that I think I haven't shared before. As far as utaite collabs go, this one is pretty great too.
I wonder what this beat style is called. I've only heard it in a handful of things it seems like.
So this #MoodMusicMonday topic is Love. Well, that makes sense for February I guess. Really to one extent or another that probably fits like 90% of music, but I wanted to at least try to find something in some way a bit more unusual than the standard.
I'm not normally that big on pop in general, but Eve's music is pretty good with catchy sounds and good themes and styles and this one is no exception:

I discovered FLCL on the Christmas of 2016. It utterly confused me. It made no sense. Yet I couldn't help but be drawn to it. It was only a few weeks later when I rewatched it. Then again. Then again. Then again. I'm up to ~33 times today. Quickly, I realized even though I couldn't understand why, it had touched my soul in a way that no other piece of media had or has since. It became the first 10/10 I ever gave and remains my favorite piece of media ever. This is all majorly thanks to The Pillows. In 2018 I began listening to more of their non-FLCL music and they became my favorite band ever. Similarly to the way FLCL touched me in the way of TV, The Pillows was that for music. They're my most listened to and adored band of all time and always will be. They simply can't be rivaled and will always mean so much to me. My username, "Blues Drive Amelia", comes from their song "Blues Drive Monster". I'm eternally thankful I was able to see them during their last NA tour which also remains the best experience of my life. I have photos with all the members, a signed poster, my tickets, a guitar pic one of the members slid into my hand during a photo, and the Canti head patch they gave all. They're all my most treasured possessions - manifestations of what FLCL and The Pillows are to me. I grieve their disbandment - all of those who were not so lucky to catch their few non-Japanese tours, and everyone from this day on that will discover them and long for having been in the crowd for just one of the concerts - but I am all the more happy they existed once upon a time. Through their music and through FLCL, they will never stop touching hearts and souls.
Thank you, The Pillows. You'll live on forever.
