#QuestionOfTheNight if you could own one fictional vehicle that could fit in a 2 car garage, what would it be? assume that powering it is somehow not a problem, and there's no issues with legality
@ami_angelwings mech of the appropriate size! Maybe like an ExoSquad E-Frame?
@ami_angelwings time to cheat and say Catbus.
@ami_angelwings A tachikoma, definitely. At least I know that's what the husband would want.
@sachirin This might actually be the correct answer. I made my choice before looking at the responses but now I want a Tachikoma friend.
@sachirin @ami_angelwings oooh that's a good one
@ami_angelwings@urusai.social For fun? The air skates from Jupiter Ascending. For practicality, the RV from Spaceballs might work, but it'd be a tight fit...
@ami_angelwings is it cheating to say the guant vehicles from Dynazenon? when they're not in use they fit in your pocket
@waitworry i consider that cheating yes, the purpose wasn't to have people actually own a garage to park something in when they weren't using it, i just wanted to limit the size of the vehicle
@waitworry oh no ): time to say 15 hail yuris
@ami_angelwings oh definitely the Pern dragons
@ami_angelwings though "own" is not the nature of that relationship
@ami_angelwings broom (kiki)
@ami_angelwings it even transforms into a broad cleaning implement when needed
@estelle @ami_angelwings Isn't it problematic that its effectiveness varies by your emotional state though?
@ami_angelwings Gotta be Mach 5
@ami_angelwings Man, I really wanted to throw in my Imperial Courier in Elite Dangerous.
I'm sure it would be cheating to say the SV I use in Empyrion (they build pretty small -- usually -- and could easily match a single car or smaller, but there isn't exactly an official definitive model either since they're all custom built.)
I'm struggling here to really come up with anything useful. The best I can really think of -- since so many brought up anime -- is that little wind surfer device Nausicaa uses. I imagine it's scary if you ever accidentally let go, but whatever it uses to function, its power requirements must be especially low given the special tech requirements of the world in that story.
I don't know why I'm drawing such a big blank on this!
@ami_angelwings probably a TARDIS cause now seems like a good time to get the eff off this planet.
@ami_angelwings I love the shuttlecraft from the original series of Star Trek, but if that is too big for the prompt, then the shuttlepod from the prequel series Enterprise, which I also love; that one is about the size of a minivan and feels like the American space shuttle inside.
@ami_angelwings I am going to ignore "mech" and similar due to them not really fitting what I'd consider "vehicle"
Not that this does either, particularly, but I want a time machine.
@ami_angelwings To go a bit more classic and "proper vehicle" (with bonuses) let's say... this dude's car.
@ami_angelwings did Dragonball have these like bubble-topped personal vehicles capable of VTOL? I recall something like that. I guess I'd take that, so long as it's not too expensive to run. Zero idea how I'd handle maintenance though
@ami_angelwings Gonna choose something really weird and go for the 4-rotor swapped Nissan 180SX I made in Forza Horizon 4 once.
It had pop-up headlights and, through the miraculous power of not being a real project car, had perfect reliability despite the rare & exotic engine that doesn't belong in that car. And it screamed a bunch.
@ami_angelwings if I thought harder about this I probably would want something more practical, but right now I just want to cruise around in this
@ami_angelwings I have a real soft spot for ridebacks. (Art is from the original mangaka, Kasahara Tetsurou)
@socks @ami_angelwings The image makes me feel like the "bike" doesn't have powered wheels and, instead, pushes along with its hands.
@ami_angelwings lol I just woke up and misread this at first so my answer was going to be SDF-1 Macross but that's exactly what you didn't want
@ojou SDF Micross
@socks why is this so funny
@ami_angelwings Kaneda's motorcycle from Akira.
I don't wanna drive that thing but a lotta folx would pay a whooooole lotta money for that thing...
*dreams of bidding war*
@ami_angelwings Star Wars Speeder Bike from Return of the Jedi
@ami_angelwings Absolutely a TARDIS. With the all-time coolest console room style, the Rani's from "Mark of the Rani".
